My exams ended 31 May, so now i'm finding myself being blessed with
time.
Apart from increasing my work schedule, i have to use my time wisely, fully utilise this blessing.
I've been working at a printer shop in Bullcreek for about 2 months now; it's a pretty easy and brainless job, just making sure the shelves are stocked with inks and serve customers who come in. It's not that kind of "printer" printer shop where you "print" stuff for people and then charge them 5 cents a print. It's more a shop selling printers and printer cartridges. It's strange cos i wondered why my bosses had the passion to sell of all things, printers and cartridges, but they seem to love it and do it so well. And it's strange that i now know almost at the top of my head, which model of cartridge goes with which printer, Epson, Canon, Brother or HP.
The pay's not bad, but low for aussie standard. But i make it up by using their broadband at the shop, to read the news, blog, chat or email. Hey, i'm allowed to when there's no customer around so why not.
I just recently took up another job (a second job wow) at an Italian restaurant not too far from my place - ironically called Amici, the same name as the Italian restaurant in holland V i worked at last time. This time however, i'm not doing waitering work. I'm a
dishwasher! Angel says it builds character. I say it breaks my back. But she's right though, it's humbling work and certainly not easy standing for more than 5 hours straight. I remember it was the banglas who would do this kind of job in Singapore for only about $3/hr which is madness. I get $16/hr. So now you probably understand why i'm even doing it. But i'm glad to say that slowly i will climb the corporate ladder, from dishwasher to kitchenhand to perhaps one day my own boss! (dream on.) I can dream can't I?
Maybe this is really working out for me. Last saturday i was asked to dip the veal in flour, egg and breadcrumbs. I also spreaded garlic butter on bread. Woots! One day i'll make it big haha.
But ah well, one thing at a time, one day at a time. For now, i'll just enjoy my holiday.
Note: My friend Drew is the best and i want to give him 1 Million Dollars! Fabian Smells! (he typed that, not me)
