the month of June
Angel told me the other day she hasn't seen my car yet, so ta-da!
My hot & sexy scarlet red 1994 1.6L twincam fuel-injected Mazda 323 Protege. Well it's been quite some time since I last blogged, but a lot has happened since. Happy things that is. Really got to give it all to God, cos seriously I feel so blessed in every way.
Well just last wednesday, me and a few others who have no exams volunteered to cook chicken rice for the students who are too busy to cook for themselves. It's something Agape has been doing for a few years apparently? But i reckon it's a great idea. So anyway, on the monday before that i cooked it for myself for my own dinner, just to try it out and to perfect it. Well, it wasn't as good as i had hoped so i was a bit discouraged then. On tuesday i went to Hawker's Cafe in Winthrop and bought me one hainanese chicken rice for my own dinner, just to learn how they packaged it and made it look presentable. I worked with Amy, Danson, Jasmine and Jess, who i must say are the best! We had so much fun and fellowship, and i really appreciate working with them. I guess we were all enthusiastic, for one thing, and yeah i wouldn't have wanted to do this with anyone else :)
I mean, just look at Jasmine (above). That's Aussie confidence! We did get remarks and appreciative gestures, but seriously, there's no better privilege than to be able to serve God and bless His people in such a unique, fun and interesting way. I felt more blessed!
(Above) Danson and I killing time while waiting for Amy and Jasmine to come back from a delivery to somewhere in Curtin University.
And yep, it's the month of JUNE! Lots of birthdays this month, including good friends Jack (7 June), Danson (17 June), Angeline (18 June), Eugene Har (18 June also) as well as apparently Chris Yap on 23 June, which is the day of Agape Camp?? Hmmm time to sabo him, lest i too get sabo-ed.
Many thanks to Jon Ho, Fabian, Tian and Felicia who invited me to their house for a wonderful birthday dinner with Danson and Angie. And i also met my "long-lost" ex-cell leader Shona and her husband Jimmy there as well. We had a blast. Thanks for the Thai-style dinner and cake guys!
Me, Danson, Angie.
And yes. I got a haircut today! Haha! This would be my second haircut since arriving here 6 months ago. Heh. That's an average of 3 months between cuts. But anyhoo, tell me what u think of the cut. (below) I just got there and asked the Hongkie to recommend a style to cut. So there.
What think you? :)

My exams ended 31 May, so now i'm finding myself being blessed with
time.
Apart from increasing my work schedule, i have to use my time wisely, fully utilise this blessing.
I've been working at a printer shop in Bullcreek for about 2 months now; it's a pretty easy and brainless job, just making sure the shelves are stocked with inks and serve customers who come in. It's not that kind of "printer" printer shop where you "print" stuff for people and then charge them 5 cents a print. It's more a shop selling printers and printer cartridges. It's strange cos i wondered why my bosses had the passion to sell of all things, printers and cartridges, but they seem to love it and do it so well. And it's strange that i now know almost at the top of my head, which model of cartridge goes with which printer, Epson, Canon, Brother or HP.
The pay's not bad, but low for aussie standard. But i make it up by using their broadband at the shop, to read the news, blog, chat or email. Hey, i'm allowed to when there's no customer around so why not.
I just recently took up another job (a second job wow) at an Italian restaurant not too far from my place - ironically called Amici, the same name as the Italian restaurant in holland V i worked at last time. This time however, i'm not doing waitering work. I'm a
dishwasher! Angel says it builds character. I say it breaks my back. But she's right though, it's humbling work and certainly not easy standing for more than 5 hours straight. I remember it was the banglas who would do this kind of job in Singapore for only about $3/hr which is madness. I get $16/hr. So now you probably understand why i'm even doing it. But i'm glad to say that slowly i will climb the corporate ladder, from dishwasher to kitchenhand to perhaps one day my own boss! (dream on.) I can dream can't I?
Maybe this is really working out for me. Last saturday i was asked to dip the veal in flour, egg and breadcrumbs. I also spreaded garlic butter on bread. Woots! One day i'll make it big haha.
But ah well, one thing at a time, one day at a time. For now, i'll just enjoy my holiday.
Note: My friend Drew is the best and i want to give him 1 Million Dollars! Fabian Smells! (he typed that, not me)
