East Asia
(Judith and I with new friends we made on the trip!)
It's been a few days since i came back from my East Asia trip. Wow, i'm overwhelmed. This was a great trip. A lot of this trip required me to really put my faith in God, that He will provide, and that He is in control of every situation.
For me to even be able to go on this trip, is in itself a step of faith. Before i made the decision to go on this trip, i did not have enough to pay for the trip. But still, i felt God's prompting and the peace only He could give. This was my greenlight to go. So i said, yes Lord, if You send me, i will go. My finances were all provided for finally through blessings from significant individuals in my life, friends placed in my life for a greater purpose. To those special friends, thank YOU for giving to the Lord.
While i was there, i won't deny that there were things that stood in the way, including less desirable living conditions as well as surfacing tensions among team members, but that didn't concern me that much. I was wholly grateful that this trip was somewhat different from my first trip in 2000 (Myanmar), where there were "other" disturbances in the way. This trip however, was fairly straightforward, and in each circumstance, we just knew that He was in control. I'm ever so grateful. We visited places we never thought we would visit. It really is an eye-opener for me and the team as well. We in Singapore are truly very fortunate. Be grateful of what you have right now, and be thankful for your freedom to worship, where it is against the law elsewhere.
But throughout the trip, there were many instances which reminded me of songs we used to sing in church, such as "All For Love", as in those circumstances, God spoke to me using songs. What a blessing! I truly am blessed!
Anywho, i'd love to tell you more tales from the far east when we meet face to face. But i am truly glad to be back, with my friends, family, and bed.
